BANGALORE: Musician Raju Ananthswamy (38) passed away here on Saturday due to kidney failure. He is survived by his mother and three sisters.

Raju, son of singer late Mysore Ananthaswamy, was admitted to Sagar Apollo Hospital here due to back pain and kidney problem. He did not respond to the treatment and he died around 11.45 am on Saturday.  Apart from popularising his father’s compositions, Raju had brought out 12 CDs. Raju’s songs America America, Amrutha dhare, Nanu othare yedbuttu, etc, are popular.Raju had acted as comedian in Abhi, Jackpot, OO la la, Rishi and other Kannada movies.
