KOLAR: With the declaration of D S Veeraiah as the BJP candidate for Kolar seat, the confusion that prevailed in the district BJP has now come to an end.

Veeraiah, MLC and chairman of Dr Ambedkar Development Corporation, has to face an acid test to win the seat, since Kolar is a Congress bastion.

During the 2004 elections Veeraiah lost by a margin of 11,600 against Union Minister and five -term MP K H Muniyappa. Several other aspirants' names doing rounds in the party circle, particularly Dodda Chowdappa who contested from Mulbagal Constituency for Legislative Assembly as an Independent fizzled out and Veeraiah managed to get the ticket.
