Film: Raavana Cast: Yogeesh, Sanchitha Padukone, Santhosh, Srinivasa Murthy, Dwarakeesh, Ninasam Aswath Director: Yogeesh Hunasur RAVANA is a re-make of Tamil blockbuster Kaadhal Kondein which was also re-made in Telugu as Nenu. Director Yogeesh Hunasur has faithfully followed the original version.

He even did not change the names of the characters — Vinod, Divya and Aaadhi. But, he has failed in capturing the essence of the original screenplay.

Yogeesh, who is affectionately called as 'Loose Maada’ by his well-wishers and fans, has acted well as the youth who desperately craves for a companion.

He is superb in dance and stunt sequences but disappoints in emotional sequences.

He looks simple but lacks facial expression. Debutante Sanchita Padukone has to go a long way to remain as heroine. She looks stoic in most of the sequences.

Dwarakeesh, Srinivasa Murthy and Santosh have provided good support. In fact, for Santosh, the character that he has played is easily one of the most important and best role in his career till date.

The story is about Vinod (Yogeesh) who is mentally and physically abused in his childhood.

His life is full of miseries.

Not only is he deprived of his mother’s love in the childhood but also loses the girl he was infatuated with. He finds shelter in a an orphanage and later joins an engineering college in Bangalore where he encounters Divya (Sanchita Padukone), the daughter of Director General of Police (Srinivasa Murthy).

Meanwhile, Vinod’s classmate Aadhi (Santosh) craves for Divya. In a particular scene, Aadhi admits Divya to a hospital for treatment. She falls in love with Aadhi and considers Vinod as a friend.

Divya’s father stops her from attending the college. Vinod, pretending to help Aadhi elope with Divya, kidnaps her.

Music director Abhiman has provided melodious music.

It is worth watching for those who love action films and have not watched the Tamil or Telugu versions.
