MYSORE: The Cabinet expansion is likely to witness induction of two ministers from Mysore - MLA S A Ramadas and MLC C H Vijayshankar. This will prove to be a political windfall for Mysore, which had to wait for two and a half years for its own district incharge Minister.

The BJP government had earlier appointed Shoba Karandlaje as district Minister, a post which fell vacant following her resignation. Transport Minister R Ashok hoisted the flag during last Republic Day celebrations. Finally, the charge was entrusted to Urban Development Minister S Suresh Kumar.

Ramadas, who got a berth in the Cabinet when BJP came to power, expressed happiness over the possible opportunity to serve as a minister. "Considering my earlier stints in various bodies and committees, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has considered me for the Cabinet. I will work to fulfil his expectations and the people of Karnataka," Ramadas told Express. The threetime MLA from K R Constituency joined BJP in 1992 and soon assumed charge as president of Mysore City Yuva Morcha. He later went on to become president of state BJP Yuva Morcha.

C H Vijayshankar, former MP who lost in the previous general elections to H Vishwanath of Congress is likely to be inducted into the Cabinet. "It is left to the party to decide upon what portfolio I will receive," he said. However, the cabinet expansion has left H S Shankarlinge Gowda, a fourtime MLA from Chamaraja constituency, high and dry.
