MANGALORE: A visual media journalist was assaulted by a group of people when he was shooting the buffalo race (Kambala) at Thalapady on Saturday.
The victim was identified as Shashidhar Poyyathbail, a videographer attached to ‘Namma Nadu’, a local TV channel. Sources from Ullal police station said, when Shashidhar was busy videographing the buffalo race organised at Panjala in Thalapady, a pair of buffaloes got scared and resisted to run on the track. Then the owner of the buffalo Manoj blamed the videographer. Manoj, was arrested and produced before the court on Sunday. Poyyathbail is recovering at the hospital, sources said.
