‘Committee Probe Diversionary Tactic’

BANGALORE: Accusing the BJP government of promoting baarah khoon maafi culture, former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy described the house committee probe as a ploy to deviate public attention from the shameful episode.

“There is no need for the committee to probe the issue when the electronic media footage is by itself proof of Lakshman Savadi’s involvement in the disgraceful episode. It looks like that the BJP does not want to pronounce guilty till 12 murders are committed — something typical of baarah khoon maafi culture. The entire episode is nauseating,” Kumaraswamy addressed the Media here on Wednesday.

Urging Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah to immediately cancel the membership of three tainted MLAs, the JD (S) chief wanted the BJP leadership to take action against the trio by expelling them from the party in order to assuage the hurt feelings of RSS cadre which has worked hard to bring the BJP to power in Karnataka.

“The true colours of the BJP are out. It has no moral right to speak on culture and traditionof the nation anymore,” the JD(S) state president asserted.
