BANGALORE: The High Court on Friday quashed an investigation order by the Lokayukta Court against Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah. A private case was filed against Bopaiah, alleging him of misappropriating the funds of a lake development project in Kodagu.

However, the court has dismissed the petition filed by other accused in the case.

Bopaiah had filed a petition before the HC seeking quashing of the Lokayukta police’s FIR. Justice N Ananda took up the case and observed that prima facie there was no evidence against him and his complicity was not found in the case. The petitions filed by other three accused, ZP member S N Raja Rao, Kodagu Nirmiti Kendra Project manager Yoga Narasimha and ZP CEO N Krishnappa, were dismissed.
