MYSORE: Three persons were killed on the spot and five others seriously injured when the speeding Scorpio in which they were travelling, rammed into a road-side tree near Chinahundi between Gundlupet-Beggur in Chamrajnagar district here on Monday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Gurubidar Singh Rana (35), Kamat Jig Dugal (40) and Sandeep Kaur (35), all from Delhi.
The injured have been shifted to a hospital. The travellers, all members of a family from Delhi, were on a hospital tour to Bangalore and were on their way to Ooty when the accident occurred. Three of them escaped with minor injuries. Beggur police have registered a case.
