TUMKUR: A seven-year-old boy suffering from cerebral palsy was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Doddenahalli village in Pavagada taluk on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Kemparama, the third child of Kariyamma and Tippeswamy. Given the facts that the village is close to Nidugal fort, which is infamous for treasure hunters who practise witchcraft, and a strange astrologer visited the village on Tuesday, the boy’s parents suspect it to be a human sacrifice.

The stranger, aged about 45, had visited the boy’s house at around 12.30 pm and enquired the old woman at the house about the health of the boy. His parents were in the fields at that time. The boy then went missing, and was found dead in a gorge in the village. Circle police inspector Sheshadri, PSIs K L N Raju of Arasikere station and Anil of Pavagada visited the the spot. Speaking to Express, Raju said there were no external injuries on the body. However, a case of suspected death had been registered, he added.
