BANGALORE: The High Court on Thursday adjourned hearing on the petition filed by former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa seeking to quash Governor H R Bhardwaj’s sanction to the Lokayukta to initiate criminal proceedings against him for his alleged involvement in the multi-crore illegal mining scandal, till January 17.
The Lokayukta and the Governor filed an affidavit before a bench comprising Justices Bhaktavatsalam and Govindarajulu stating that a similar plea was dismissed by a HC bench.
Orders Posted on BSY, Somanna Bail Plea
The High Court posted its orders on a petition filed by B S Yeddyurappa, Housing Minister V Somanna and his wife Shylaja seeking anticipatory bail in a case relating to denotification of 22 guntas of land in Naga Devanahalli in 2009.
Hearing the arguments of the Lokayukta counsel and the petitioners, Justice Subhash B Adi said that the orders would be dictated on January 16.

Yogishwar Stayed
The High Court on Thursday stayed the summons issued by a lower court against Forest Minister C P Yogishwar over a complaint lodged by the Election Commission during the 2009 LS polls.
Dharam Singh’s Plea Hearing Put Off
The High Court adjourned hearing on a petition filed by Bidar MP N Dharam Singh seeking direction to quash a complaint and an FIR lodged against him. Meanwhile, hearing on a PIL seeking action against him and others in connection with Lokayukta report on illegal mining was also adjourned.
Polytechnic: HC Issues Notice to State
The HC issued notices to the state government and others over a PIL alleging them of spending vast amounts for setting up an animal husbandry polytechnic at the cattle research and information centre at Konehalli, and a cattle breeding centre at Koila, D-K district.
