MANDYA: Four persons of a family drowned in a tank in Bettadakote village, Nagamangala taluk. The deceased are Chikkamma, 60 , Mamatha, 27, Parimala, 25 and Chidananda, 3. Chikkamma who was grazing buffalo, took it to a nearby tank, where she lost her balance and drowned with the baby. Meanwhile, Mamatha, daughter-in-law Chikkamma and Parimala, her daughter, too, met with the same fate while trying to save the child. The villagers have fished out the bodies.
