Yenagi Nataraj no more

Noted stage actor Yenagi Nataraj, 54, who passed away at a private hospital here on Saturday morning, was cremated at his native village Yanagi in Bailhongal taluk later in the evening.

He is the son of popular stage artist Balappa Yanagi. District Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Y R Patil, noted personalities B S Gavimath, Basavaraj Jagajumpi, M S Inchal, Shirish Joshi, and actor Shivaranja paid their last respects to the late actor. Nataraj is survived by his father Balappa, mother Laxmibai, wife and two children.

Nataraj’s acting career commenced with  training at the Ninasam Drama School; he completed his education in Belgaum. He played the lead in about a thousand stage and street dramas and had even acted in a few Kannada films.

Nataraj was recently appointed chief of Rangayana at Dharwad by the state government.
