CHIKMAGALUR: The BJP has not taken Udupi-Chikmagalur byelection seriously, said JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy.

He told reporters here on Thursday that people have rejected both the Congress and BJP in the Assembly elections to five states. People in Udupi-Chikmagalur LS constituency are also looking forward for a new force and the JD(S) will emerge victorious, he asserted.

He said Yeddyurappa had set a new precedent in the history of the state politics by receiving crores of rupees through a trust headed by his family members. The law should clarify to the people whether it is lawful or unlawful, he added.
