CHIKMAGALUR: Deputy Commissioner D K Ranga Swamy told reporters here on Thursday that as many as 3,896 personnel were drafted for election duty and 574 vehicles were arranged for ferrying the officials to and fro the polling stations.

Unlike in the previous elections, polling time has been fixed between 8 am and 5 pm as mock voting will be conducted between 7 and 8 am. 1,108 electronic voting machines are kept ready for 899 polling stations in the four assembly constituencies of the district, he said.
