BANGALORE: Justifying the Karnataka Police’s action in arresting an accused in the Chinnaswamy Stadium blast case, Mohammad Khafeel in Darbhanga district of Bihar on Tuesday, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said he would write to Bihar CM Nitish Kumar in this regard.

The Chief Minister on Wednesday while defending the preemptive action said that any intimation to the local police could have tipped off the suspect.

He addressed the media on the sidelines of a function here on Wednesday, and said that the police were efficient in arresting the suspects.

“This is a very sensitive, and not just any other case.

Since he was involved in such a serious crime, he would have had close links with the local authorities and police.” Gowda said that he had already spoken to Bihar Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi on the issue.
