Muzrai dept officials visit Sosale Mutt

MYSORE: Within a few days of the government appointing an administrator to look after the matters of Sosale Sri Vyasaraja Mutt, a team of officials from the Muzrai Department took stock of the assets of the Mutt in Mysore and its branches in Srirangapatna, Mandya and other parts of Mysore region, on Sunday.

Following allegations of mismanagement, the government had recently appointed K Jairaj, Additional Chief Secretary, as administrator of Sosale Vyasaraja Mutt which reportedly has 58 branches across the country.

So, the government took over the administration of the Mutt. As per the directions of administrator K Jairaj, a team of officials led by K Jayatheertha from the Muzrai Department, visited the Mutt at Krishnamurthypuram in the city, Srirangapatna and Mandya.

They will also visit another branch of the Mutt in T Narasipur on Monday.

An official said they have listed out the assets of the Mutt in Mysore branch.

Sosale Mutt Seer Vidyamanohara Theertha Swami was not present during the visit.But the officials recorded details of the assets, including the residence in which the seer is staying, two vehicles and others Tahsildar Yathiraju Sampathkumaran assisted the team.
