Litterateurs should not protest on the issue of closure of some schools considering low strength of students, he told media persons at his office here on Monday.

Kagieri said that former minister Basavraj Horatti and some litterateurs held a meeting in Dharwad on Monday and adopted a resolution to protest the committee’s report.

The minister clarified that the report was in draft form and hence litterateurs should not be carried away by hearsay.

“The Union government is pressing for structural change in the education system and we have assured that the change will be brought about in 3-4 years,” the minister explained.
