Looking at the palace city from the sky

The dream of every Mysoreans to fly over the city and witness its picturesque spots took wings on Monday, with the launch of Maharaja Package with a two-seater Cessna aircraft.

Zilla Panchayat president Ka Pu Siddaveerappa experienced the thrill of flying from Mandakalli airport to Chamundi Hills, over Lalit Mahal Palace, Amba Vilas Palace and back to the airport during the launch of the new facility which is the special attraction of this year’s Dasara.

A 15-minute sortie at an altitude of 700 to 1,000 ft, costs Rs 2,500. A 17-member team from a Bangalore-based Government Flying Training Institute has arrived in the city for the 10-day event. Madhurima Mukherji is the instructor pilot.
