Chief Minister to inaugurate Kittur Utsav on Tuesday

Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar will inaugurate the two-day Kittur Utsav at Kittur town on Tuesday.

The Kittur-bound Veerarani Channamma Vijayajyoti will be flagged off from Bailhongal by the Veerarani Channama Jyoti Samiti at 7 am on Tuesday.

Pooja to Rani Channamma’s statue will be conducted at Kakati at 9 am and District In-charge Minister Umesh Katti will receive the Vijayajyoti at Kittur Channamma Circle in Kittur at 11 am.

Public Works Minister C M Udasi will inaugurate the exhibition of products at Kittur at 11.15 am and at the same time Canara MP Anantkumar Hegde will inaugurate the Janapada Kalawahini. The CM will inaugurate the main programme on Kittur Fort premises at 6 pm in which ministers and actors Darshan and Anu Prabhakar will also be present.

Cultural programmes will be held between 6 pm to 8 pm.

There will also sports which will be an added attraction at the programme.

RPD College’s history department head Smita Surebankar will deliver a special speech during the valedictory function at 7 pm.
