Grand procession in Sringeri

The last day of Dasara festivities - Vijayadashami - was celebrated at the Sharadapeetam on Wednesday.

Administrator Gowrishankar lead the Vijayotsava from Sharada Temple where Goddess Sharadamba was taken out in a grand procession on the mutt elephants, followed by cultural troupes to Kalikamba Temple.

Shamipooja was conducted near Kalikamba Temple and the Goddess was decorated with Gajalakshmi Alankara.

Dasara at the Hariharapura mutt in Koppa taluk concluded on Wednesday, where Laxminarayana Hrudaya Homa was conducted. Surli Tyagaraja Sangeetha School students performed 'Sangeetha Vaividya.' Swayamprakasha Sachidananda Saraswathi Swamiji blessed the devotees.

The festival was also commemorated at the Horanadu Annapurneshwari Temple, where Dharmakartha Sri Bheemeshwara Joshi lead the Vijayotsava procession. A Bharatnatyam performance by B Lakshmi of Bellary was organised on the occasion. At Shakatapuram mutt various religious rituals were performed to Rajarajeshwari.

Mutts of Durgadevasthana and Bomlapura Temple also celebrated the day.
