The weapons used by great warrior Palegara Bisse Gowda during the Maharaja’s tenure were cleaned and a pooja was performed by his family members on the eve of Mahanavami.

According to sources, Bisse Gowda was the native of Harapanayakana Halli of Mulbagal taluk of the district.  Palegara Bisse Gowda was a great warrior of the 18th century.   On Maharaja’s direction, Bisse Gowda in 1799 showed his courage and strength by protecting Chandragiri Fort in Andhra Pradesh.   The weapons are safeguarded by his family members in the fort where Bisse Gowda spent his last days. Though the family lives at Harapanayakana Halli in Mulbagal, family members residing in various parts of the country gather on the eve of Mahanavami and perform Ayudha pooja for the weapons.
