The High Court on Wednesday set aside the Lokayukta special court order on probe against Congress MLA Baburao Chinchansur in a private complaint accusing him of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Justice K N Keshavanarayana set aside the order of the Lokayukta court on November 28, 2013, stating to register an FIR against the MLA and submit a probe report. A private complaint was filed on August 22, 2012, before the Special Lokayukta Court by RTI activist Shantappa. He had alleged that Chinchanasur had amassed wealth to the tune of `12.92 crore, most of which he had withheld in his declarations before the Lokayukta and the Election Commission.
