KPCC president finds political heir in nephew

Devaraj B Hirehalli

KPCC president G Parameshwara’s nephew G S Anand alias Siddhanth is all set to take the plunge into politics.

The producer-cum-actor recently appeared at a press conference here along with his uncle Parameshwara, KPCC vice president B L Shankar, OBC cell president Venugopal and secretary Srinivas. This marks the entry of the third generation of late MLC H M Gangadharaiah (HMG), who was the founder of Siddhartha group of institutions, into politics.

Anand, son of Parameshwara’s elder brother G S Shivaprasad, is seemingly striking at the right time as the Assembly polls are round the corner.

He is reportedly eyeing Nelamangala Assembly constituency, reserved for Scheduled Castes.

Anand, who is a doctor,  obtained a hospital management degree from a university in the United Kingdom and had been managing Sri Siddhartha Medical College.

He has also produced and acted in two Kannada films Minchu and AK 56. However, he could not make it big in Sandalwood. Now, he is taking the plunge into politics as it worked out well for his uncle.

Sources said that once the Congress party gives him the go-ahead, he would be active in Nelamangala. Otherwise, there will be no surprise if he plays the political heir to Parameshwara in Koratagere Assembly constituency in future, sources added.

In fact, Parameshwara told Tumkur district Congress president Shafi Ahmed to make use of Anand’s efforts to build the party.

When asked he admitted that he has been harnessing a political dream and wishes to take the plunge from Nelamangala.
