Shankar Bidari inducted into Congress

Former DG&IGP Shankar Bidari was formally admitted into the Congress at a simple ceremony on the party office premises here on Monday.

Former DG&IGP Shankar Bidari was formally admitted into the Congress at a simple ceremony on the party office premises here on Monday.

Along with Bidari, two leaders who were identified with the JD(S), Dr Jayanna and Prof K E Radhakrishna also joined the party  in the presence of the AICC general secretary Madhusudan Mistry. Bidari said that he had not set any conditions before joining the party.

“Showering praise on the party, he  said that the Congress is the only party which has pan-India presence and inclusive representation of all sections in the society.  “People of the state have blessed me with love and affection during the four decades of my service.  I think it is high time to pay back their dues by rendering selfless service in state politics,” added Bidari.

He also vowed to remain in the Congress for the rest of his life.
