BELGAUM: Bhaskar Rao, IGP, Northern Range said the department does not plan to file a case under the Goonda Act against BJP leader Bansangouda Patil Yatnal, who was allegedly involved in recent communal clashes in Bijapur city.
The IGP’s office, in a release, here denied media reports in this regard. Yatnal was remanded to judicial custody and was admitted at the KLES hospital on Thursday night after he sufferred a mild heart attack. The former Union minister has been facing charges of delivering a provocative speech soon after Narendra Modi assumed charge as Prime Minister which led to communal clashes in Bijapur city.
