Shirady Ghat Road to Open on Aug 9

 MANGALURU: The Shirady Ghat Road (NH-75), which has been closed for the last six months, will open after an inspection by officials of the National Highways Authority of India and the State National Highways (PWD) on Sunday, Forest Minister B Ramanath Rai said on Monday.

The concretisition of the 13.2-km stretch is complete and the road is ready for traffic, the minister told reporters.

On why work on the other two stretches which were to be taken up simultaneously had not been completed, Rai said, “There were some issues with the tender process and once these are formalised, work on those stretches would also commence.”
