MYSURU: The earnings of Sri Male Mahadeshwara Swamy Temple in Chamarajanagar is expected to touch Rs 50 crore mark this year. The temple which stands second in terms of earnings in the state after Kukke Subramanya temple in Dakshina Kannada district, has witnessed a leap in its revenue in the last few years.
From Rs 25 crore in the year 2008, the revenue rose to Rs 31 crore in 2013-14 and Rs 42 crore in 2014-15.Bharati, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Chamarajanagar district and secretary of the Sri Male Mahadeshwara Temple Development Authority, speaking at a seminar on tourism on Saturday, said the authority is expecting the hundi collections to be Rs 10 crore, Rs 8 crore from golden car procession and Rs 4 crore from various pujas.
E-puja
The authority is considering to open online services for those who are not able to come all the way to the temple to offer pujas.
They can pay for pujas online and also see the puja being offered on their behalf through website.
