BENGALURU: Senior state officials officers, including Chief Secretary Kaushik Mukherjee on Thursday meet top executives of many companies and delegations visiting the ongoing Aero India 2015 at the Air Force Station in Yelahanka.
A series of meeting were held with representatives of Rolls-Royce, Boeing, Sikorsky and members of a delegation from Israel.
During the meetings, the Chief Secretary and other officials from the Department of Industries and Commerce stressed on ‘Make in Bengaluru’ to ramp up manufacturing in the aerospace sector.
Mukherjee assured Kishore Jayaraman, president-India & South Asia, Rolls Royce, that the government will mobilise resources. Rolls Royce has sealed a joint venture partnership with HAL to increase the aerospace potential of the state. It further sought 12 acres of land from the government in the Aerospace Park, Devanahalli, in addition to the six acres it already possesses.
Jayaraman expressed a desire to co-design futuristic products in collaboration with the government and both agreed to build a platform to assimilate SMEs and global giants together, according to a release issued by Commerce and Industries Department.
Meeting with Israeli delegation
The Chief Secretary told the Israeli delegates that the government can offer an exclusive industrial estate for Israeli companies outside Bangalore with required energy infrastructure. “We can appoint a manager in the estate as a point of contact who can address all issues related to government approvals. We invite you to come up with a proposal,” he told them.
Amitabh Kant, Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, K Rathna Prabha, Additional Chief Secretary, Gaurav Gupta, Commissioner of Industries and Commerce and other officers were present during the meetings, the release added.
