UDUPI: A Class 10 student was arrested on Monday on charges of murdering a 10-year-old boy.
Sughosh Adiga , a Class 4 student, was missing for the past two days. His body was found in an open well at Moorkai, near Upladi, under Kota police station limits on Monday morning.
According to the police, the victim had gone to play with his 16-year-old friend, but did not return. However, the accused brought Sughosh’s bicycle and parked it near his residence.
When people started searching for the missing boy and a complaint was filed with the police in this regard, the friend fled to Shivamogga.
On Monday morning, when he returned to Kota, some people questioned him. Later, police took the boy into their custody and during interrogation, he admitted to killing Adiga.
He said they had a fight over some issue when Sughosh fainted.
Then he dragged Sughosh’s body to the well and threw him in, he told the police.
