UDUPI:Days after the alleged murder of businessman K Bhaskar Shetty, his wife Rajeshwari and son Navaneeth were on Monday remanded in police custody for five days. Manipal police had sought nine days of custody when they were produced before Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division) Rajesh Karnan of Udupi court.
Shetty (52) owned a large property and a chain of supermarkets in the Gulf. Sources told Express that as Rajeshwari was planning for a divorce, outsiders might also have been involved in hatching the murder. Apart from Rajeshwari, Navaneeth and astrologer Niranjan Bhat, some others could have been involved in the murder, said sources
Police are yet to reveal information about Niranjan Bhat, who sources said had surrendered on Sunday night.
