Ask partymen not to politicise Meti case, says RTI activist

RTI activist Rajashekhar Mulali said he requested Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and H D Kumaraswamy to direct their party leaders not to politicise the sex scandal.

BALLARI: RTI activist Rajashekhar Mulali said he requested Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and state JD(S) president H D Kumaraswamy to direct their party leaders not to politicise sex scandal case of former minister H Y Meti.

Mulali, a few days ago, claimed that Meti’s supporters were threatening him over the sex tape. But he said he does not have the video in his possession. He told Express over phone from New Delhi on Saturday that he met Singh and spoke to him for seven minutes.

“During the discussion, I requested the Union minister to ask his party leaders not to claim credit for the Meti episode and politicise the matter,” he said.Mulali said Singh promised him that no such things would happen.
“The minister told me that my fight is different and politics is different,” he added. He said he requested Singh to provide him security as his life was in danger and got assurance from him in this regard.

Mulali said he spoke to Kumaraswamy over phone and requested him to direct his party leaders not to politicise the issue.
He claimed that he is being congratulated by Kannadigas living in New Delhi.
