BENGALURU: The Lokayuktha Special Court on Monday granted interim bail to former Lokayuktha Justice Y Bhaskar Rao.
Rao has been arraigned as an accused in corruption and extortion scam in Lokayukta in the chargesheet filed by Special Investigation Team (SIT). His son Y Ashwin is also accused in the scam.
Rao, who appeared in person before the court in compliance with summons issued to him, moved the interim bail petition on the ground that he needed to perform the rituals of his mother's death ceremony on November 30.
Considering the plea, Judge DT Devendran granted interim bail to Rao.
The hearing of the case was posted to November 30 and asked SIT to file objections to bail plea.
