BENGALURU: Giving a push for the political aspirations of his grandson, former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda has appointed Prajwal Revanna as the general secretary of state JD(S).
The appointment is seen as a precursor to encourage a bigger role for Prajwal, son of Gowda's elder son and senior leader HD Revanna in campaigning for the party ahead of the assembly elections. It is also seen as an indication that Prajwal's demand for a party ticket would be likely met.
Prajwal is keen to contest from Rajarajeshwari Nagar constituency in Bengaluru. His recent outbursts against the party leadership over the distribution of tickets had embarrassed Gowda and former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy.
