Karnataka: Two dead, 15 injured as private bus rams into tree

Two lady passengers died on the spot and fifteen other people including the bus driver were injured when a private bus rammed in to a tree near Hangal Town.

HAVERI: Two lady passengers died on the spot and fifteen other people including the bus driver were injured when a private bus rammed in to a tree near Hangal Town, Nakara Cross on Sirsi-Haveri road early Monday morning at 5 am.

The bus driver lost control over the vehicle and hit a road side tree in the wee hours of Monday. 

All the fifteen people who were injured in the accident have been shifted to Hangal Government Hospital and the Sirsi Totagara Sahakari Sangha hospital.   

Hangal Police Inspector R.H.Kattimani speaking over phone said that two women passengers Dr.Vijaylaxmi and Geeta died on the spot and that they had informed the family members. Out of the injured two persons are said to be in a critical condition and have been admitted to Hangal and Sirsi hospitals.

A case has been registered in Hangal police station.
