BENGALURU: Shanti Nagar MLA N A  Haris’ son Mohammed Haris Nalapad, who is in the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison for allegedly assaulting Vidvat L at a cafe last week, was denied a bed by the jail authorities.

Sources in the prison said Mohammed and his six associates are kept in three cells - three in one cell while two in two other cells. “They are allowed out of their cells only to have food. They are not talking much to anyone, including the jail staff. No visitors - including his family - came to visit him,” an official said.
“On Wednesday night, he asked us to provide a bed. A senior official told him in his face, ‘This is a jail, not a guest house!’. Mohammed did not reply, and just kept quiet,” the official added.

Earlier in the day, Kannada actor Shivarajkumar visited Mallya hospital to meet Vidvat. He said Vidvat had come to his house on a special occasion. “Benglauru is known as a peaceful city; but what’s happening now? The accused should be punished.” BJP leaders CT Ravi, Janardhana Reddy, Sriramulu and others also visited the hospital. The doctors, however, did not allow any visitors to meet Vidvat.
