BENGALURU: The issue of appointing a new president for KPCC too figured during the talks Congress president Rahul Gandhi had with state party leaders on ministry formation in New Delhi on Tuesday. However, Rahul Gandhi preferred to take the issue forward after the ministry expansion.

According to sources, KPCC working president Dinesh Gundu Rao expressed his interest to head KPCC if he is not considered for a ministerial berth. D K Shivakumar, who is the front-runner for the post, is said to have been disappointed after Rahul reportedly stuck to the party’s policy of “one man one post” and was not keen on acceding to Shivakumar’s demand for the KPCC post along with a plum portfolio in the ministry.
