commission and the police have made preparations to ensure a free, fair and impartial election. Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru on Thursday, District Electoral Officer and BBMP Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao said that they had undertaken several measures to spread voting awareness. “Auto with public addressal systems are used ward wise.

Also. EVM with VVPAT is kept in Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) vehicles and master trainers are giving awareness programs to public. We are planning to use autos with public addressal systems by officers to create awareness even on the polling day, in slums”.

“Polling will be held on Monday from 7 am till 6 pm and counting will be on Wednesday from 8 am at SSMRV College. There are 19 contesting candidates. Out of the 216 polling stations, five Sakhi Pink booths are identified where only women polling personnel will be deployed. One model booth is identified. At 50 stations, webcasting facility is provided and 60 Micro Observers are deployed to cover all critical polling station and cluster booths. There are 51 51 persons with disability voters and each station clusters are provided with wheel chairs,” Rao said.

For the first time, polling personnel are provided with beds and pillows, medical kits and wellness kits he added.Police Commissioner T Suneel Kumar said that along with the city police, 10 companies of central police forces will be deployed. “One company is dedicated to guard strong room. Critical booths will get a full section (10 personnel) of CPMF men. On the result day, three layer security will be deployed. City police, reserve police and central forces will be deployed at the counting centre”.
