Karnataka: Leopard found dead on railway track

The forest officials of Goa later visited the spot and took away the carcass, which was cremated after postmortem.

KARWAR: A young leopard was found dead on a railway track between Castle Rock junction of Uttara Kannada district in Karnataka and Caranzol railway station of Goa on Thursday.

The track-man on duty noticed the body of the leopard with severe head injury on the side of the railway track on Thursday and informed his higher officials and the Forest Department.It is believed that the leopard might have met with an accident and died on the spot. The forest officials of Goa later visited the spot and took away the carcass, which was cremated after postmortem.
