80-year-old teacher thrashed in Mysuru for marrying widow

MYSURU: AN 80-year-old retired teacher was beaten black and blue by his wife and children for marrying a 35-year-old widow here recently. The woman was also injured in the melee.

M N Mohammad Gouze, a writer and poet, who was living seperately from his first wife and children, married Noor Abaza, a tenant in his house, in Kuruburabede in Nagamangala recently.   

The injured widow, mother of two daughters, has lodged a complaint with the police against eight people, including Md Gouze’s first wife Ameena Kathun, her children Habeed, Sazjeed and Kaleed. She alleged that she is facing life threat from the family members. Both Gouze and his first wife were teachers, and they parted ways long ago.
