BENGALURU: BJP MLC N Ravi Kumar has accused the state government of indulging in politics of hate. Speaking to the media in Bengaluru, the BJP leader said they have no objection to the state government’s decision to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe alleged irregularities in Covid-19 management during the previous BJP rule, but asked why did the government wait for one-and-half years to do it.

The BJP leader said that since the CM is facing serious allegations in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) sites allotment scam and Valmiki ST Development Corporation scam cases, and the Opposition is demanding his resignation, the government is now talking about the alleged mismanagement of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He was responding to the decision taken in the state cabinet on Thursday. “We are not against the formation of an SIT or a cabinet sub-committee. If there were any irregularities in the Covid management, let that come out. But why did the government take one-and-half years?” They suddenly remembered Covid management when the BJP took out a padayatra against the Rs 5,000-crore scam in the MUDA. If the MUDA scam was not brought to light, they would not have spoken about Covid,” he said.

He said the SIT constituted by the state government had given a clean chit to Congress MLA B Nagendra in the ST corporation scam. The BJP leader said they will wait and watch what the SIT will do about the then Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar in the Covid issue.
