BENGALURU: Karnataka Minister for Large and Medium Industries MB Patil said the JSW Group will invest Rs 1.20 lakh crore in Karnataka over the next five years. The announcement came during a two-day investment roadshow in Mumbai.
Leading the investment outreach, Patil met Sajjan Jindal, Chairman of the JSW Group, and Jayant Acharya, Joint Managing Director. On the first day of the roadshow, Patil also held discussions with representatives of around 10 leading companies, including L&T, Bisleri International, Raymond Lifestyle Limited, Tarq Semiconductors (Hiranandani Group), Sanofi Consumer Healthcare India (Opella), Magnum, Balu Forge and Max Aerospace.
Bisleri International expressed its readiness to expand its manufacturing capacity in Karnataka, a move expected to generate around 2,000 additional jobs, Patil said. The state government encouraged the company to consider Vijayapura or Chamarajanagar for its proposed expansion, citing assured long-term water availability.
Similarly, Raymond Lifestyle Limited, which plans to expand its jeans manufacturing business, was encouraged to consider Ballari or Vijayapura because of their established textile ecosystem, proximity to raw material sources and access to markets.
