Veteran astrologer V P K Poduval died at his residence, Jyothi Sadanam, here on Sunday morning.

PAYYANUR: Veteran astrologer V P K Poduval died at his residence, Jyothi Sadanam, here on Sunday morning. He was 94. Poduval was awarded the ‘Ganitha Jyothisha Chakrvarthy’ title by the Kanchi Kamakoti Sankaracharyar in 1981. He was also honoured with ‘jyothishathilakam’ by the Guruvayur Devaswom Board.

Author of several books on astrology, Poduval was presented the ‘Jnana Mudra’ by the Sringeri Sarada Matam Swamikal. He is survived by wife Janaky Amma, five sons and five daughters.

The cremation took place at his ancestral home.
