KOZHIKODE: Sainudheen alias Abdul Sattar alias Abdul Salam, a hardcore terrorist now in the custody of the Karnataka police, has confessed to long-standing association with PDP chairman Abdul Nazar Madhani.

Sainudheen, an expert in making remote control and timer devices, is an accused in the Bangalore blast cases and is suspected to have arranged timers used in the explosives that went off at Ahmedabad.

Sainudheen told the police that he met Madhani at the latter’s house in Ernakulam and had agreed to ‘work together’ in 1991. ‘‘An RSS worker was killed in an explosion at Tanur in 1992. In his dying declaration he has said he manufactured the bombs to be used against the procession of the Balagokulam. The then SP of Malappuram had said that God has saved Malappuram. Me and Hameed Master whom I met at Madhani’s house decided to prove that Muslims also can make bombs,’’ Sainudheen said.

The decision to make bombs was taken at a lodge at A R Nagar in Malappuram.

Gelatin sticks were bought from a shop at Valiyangadi in Kozhikode and iron balls from a shop at Old Market. Gelatin and iron balls were filled in a pipe and a timer having a transistor, capacitor and resistor was fitted with the pipe.

Sainudheen also stated that he knew Tadiyantavide Nazeer alias Umer Haji, the key figure in the terror network in Kerala which sent five Malayali youths to Pakoccupied Kashmir.
