THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Six police officials from the State Police, including KSRTC Chairman and Managing Director T.P.Senkumar, have been selected for the President’s medals for distinguished service.

Ten others have also been selected for the awards for meritorious service.

As many as 169 police officials in the State have been selected for the Chief Minister’s police medals.

DIG - Intelligence S. Gopinath, BSF DIGs Pulickal Joseph Thomas and Susanna Thomas, CRPF DIG Abdul Hakkim, Venugopal K. Nair of Steel Authority of India and CBI inspector in Thiruvananthapuram M.Shajahan are the others selected for the President’s medals for their distinguished services.

Those who were selected for the awards for meritorious service are Thrissur DySP P. Radhakrishnan, former SP CBCID Kollam T. James, Ernakulam rural former SP P.H.

Ashraf Hamsa, Kasargod AR Camp assistant commandant Kunhaman Nair, AC Narcotic cell-Thiruvananthapuram S. Ramesh Babu, Kannur DySP U. Abdul Kareem, Kozhikode Crime Branch DySP T.Gopalakrishna Pillai, Alappuzha DCRB DySP M. Madhu, Kottayam DySP P.K. Madhu and head constable (driver) V. Rajendran.

Ten officials were selected for the Chief Minister’s Fire and Rescue Medals, five for Prison medals and 15 for Excise medals, according to an official statement.
