A project for laying a new road from the Asramam Tourist Centre to Thirumullavaram is in the offing. The Asramam Tourist Destination Committee has discussed the project and authorised the PWD to prepare report. The road will start from the Asramam Link Road and pass through Boat Jetty and Olayilkadavu.
The first meeting of the Destination Committee presided over by Labour Minister P.K.Gurudasan has also decided to speed up the tender proceedings for the renovation of the Children’s Park. A shopping complex will be constructed near the park. A walkway, having a length of 200 metres adjacent to the Adventure Park at Asramam without affecting the ecology, will be constructed.
A cashew nursery will be established at the open place adjacent to the Guest House. The Committee has also decided to submit an application to the District Collector to hand over the Ashtamudi Boat Club to it.
