KOCHI: The repair work of Idukki generators will be completed on time as the work at the power-house have been completed.
The leakage on the butterfly valve is expected to be completed on Wednesday night.
The generators will resume power generation by June 16 itself as announced by the KSEB.
However, the inspection to find out if there was any damage to the tunnel will not be conducted.
The leakage at the butterfly valve had led to the closing of all the six generators at Idukki. The leakage was due to the development of a 3 cm gap during the closure of the valve.
Work on the butterfly valve has started after removing the spherical valves.
An expert team of engineers from the KSEB isengaged round-the-clock to finish the work on time.
Sources said that the work was delayed by two days since the water leakage at the intake tunnel could not be controlled. A blueprint of the repair works have been prepared and everything is moving ahead as planned, they said.
