KOCHI: Six priests and three laymen in the Archdiocese of Verapoly were selected for Papal Honour by Pope Benedict XVI. Fathers Ambrose Arakkal, Antony Kalathiveetil, Cleetus Parambaloth, John Bosco Panakkal, Paul Figarado and Joseph Thannikkott were given the title ‘Monsignor’ while Dr Tony Fernandez, Dr Henry Anjipparambil and Premus Perinchery were given the status of Chevalier. The priests and laymen were conferred with papal honours for their contribution to the church and society.

Verapoly Archbishop Daniel Acharuparambil will confer the honours during the Holy Mass on September 13. The papal order was read out at a function held at Archbishop’s House on Tuesday.
