KOCHI:  Investors in the State who had lodged complaints at the Chennai City Police Commissionarate against multi-level marketing company Gold Quest can heave a sigh of relief as the CB-CID in Chennai has filed a chargesheet in the cheating case. The Tamil Nadu police said that the case would be taken up for hearing soon since the chargesheet had been filed in the Magistrate Court in Chennai.

The Gold Quest scam broke out after a large number of investors in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka were allegedly duped by the company after collecting huge amounts from them.

“Around 1,000 people from different parts of Kerala have lodged complaints against the company ,” an official said and added that proceedings were on to seek assistance of the Interpol to extradite Vijay Easwaran, chairman of the company who is the prime accused, and three other directors from Malaysia.

A senior army official based in Alappuzha said he had joined Gold Quest’s multi-level marketing network by paying Rs 60,000.
