MUVATTUPUZHA: A joint meeting of Christian and Muslim leaders held here on Wednesday urged the government to take initiatives to constitute communal harmony committees at the local body level in the state.
The leaders of both the communities have called upon the people to work hard to ensure national integrity and communal harmony. The communities should not use religious centres, organisations, and educational institutions to disturb peace and harmony in society. Nobody should be allowed to take law into their hands. The preparation of a question paper denigrating the Prophet, and the brutal assault on the teacher, who prepared the controversial question paper, should not lead to communal hatred and misunderstanding among the communities. P T Thomas MP took the initiative to convene the religious goodwill meeting at the Lions Club here.
