PATHANAMTHITTA: Preparations have been completed for the annual Parumala perunnal in memory of St Gregorios Metropolitan and the annual pilgrimage at Parumala Seminary from October 26 to November 2.

Talking to ‘Express’, Parumala Seminary manager Rev M D Yuhanon Ramban said that arrangements had been made to provide basic facilities to lakhs of faithful who would arrive to pay homage and worship at Parumala during the perunnal days.

Rev Yuhanon Ramban said that around 30 lakh faithful, including those from the US and European countries, are expected to offer worship at Parumala during the perunnal and pilgrimage days.

Perunnal kodiyettu : The kodiyettu ceremony, marking the beginning of the eight-day perunnal, will be held under the leadership of Catholicos-designate Paulose Mar Milithios at 2 p.m. on October 26, Rev Yuhanon said. The Holy Mass at 7.30 a.m. will be led by Yuhanon Mar Policarpus.

Pilgrimage week: Paulose Mar Milithios will inaugurate the pilgrimage week observation at a function to be held at the Parumala Seminary auditorium at 3 p.m. Alexander Jacob will deliver the message. Zacharias Mar Aprem will lead the Holy Mass at 7.30 a.m. on October 27.

A discourse will be delivered by Yuhanon Mar Theodosius at 10 a.m. On October 28, Abraham Mar Zeraphim will lead the Holy Mass at 7.30 a.m. K S Radhakrishnan and Dr O Thomas will deliver discourses at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. respectively.

The special Holy Mass to be held at 7.30 a.m. on October 29 will be led by Catholicos-designate Paulose Mar Milithios.

Navathi celebrations of Catholicos : The Navathi celebrations of Catholicos and Supreme Head of Malankara Orthodox Church Baselios Mar Didimos I will be held on October 29. The celebrations will be inaugurated by Panakkad Syed Hyderali Shihab Thangal at 11 a.m.

On October 30, Holy Mass will be held under the leadership of Abraham Mar Epiphanios at 7.30 a.m. Alexander Karakal will deliver a discourse at 5 p.m.

Geevarghese Mar Osthathios will lead the Holy Mass at 6.15 a.m. on October 31. The cultural meet to be held at 10.45 a.m. will be inaugurated by NSS general secretary P K Narayana Panicker.

Yuhanon Mar Chrysostimos will preside over the function. Swami Sandeepananda will deliver discourse. On November 1, Gabriel Mar Gregorios will lead the Holy Mass at 7.30 a.m.

On the perunnal day on November 2, Holy Mass will be led by Paulose Mar Pakomios at 3.30 a.m. The special Holy Mass to be held at 8.30 a.m. will be led by the Catholicos. Baselios Marthoma Didimos I will inaugurate the pilgrimage sangamam at 11.30 a.m.

The perunnal and pilgrimage will conclude with a procession and kodiyiraku at 3 p.m.
